Ten ways quake affected Nepali farm-families could be helped

The Canadian team at the University of Guelph, Ontario, have developed a plan to help farmers living in the earthquake affected districts of Nepal. The report attached is a brief, essentially 1-page backgrounder followed by 10 detailed tables that explains who farmers can be helped.

The team is distributing it widely to encourage agencies and governments to focus on Nepal’s farmers, and they are requesting the international community to provide a small budget dedicated to farmers who are often overlooked in these circumstances – channeled through various community based organizations, NGOs and agencies.

Please share with your individual networks, especially with colleagues who have decision making powers or influence. Farmers need our support prior to the arrival of the monsoon rains in mid-June.
